'The Red Balloon' is a fantastic children book about the adventures of a young boy and his best friend, a bright red balloon. The Red Balloon was originally created as a fantasy short film. The film was released in '50s and won numerous awards including the Palme d'Or for short films at Cannes. The book has got chock-full of photographs of the boy, the balloon and the captivating city of Paris from the original film.

My friend sent me a really nice guidebook on Tokyo today. The title is TOKYO BY TOKYO published by Hotel CLASKA. The guidebook was created entirely by savvy Tokyoites, with hot tips for both tourists and locals. It definitely gives us a unique local perspective to explore the city without missing any bit of hidden delights of the metropolis.
It was a bit of shock when I heard that Esquire Japan is to close and their last issue will be out on May 23rd 2009.
I am a fun of Esquire Japan so it is very sad that there will be no more Esquire Japan after the last issue comes out... It is not so difficult to guess that the economic crisis may have hit the company's business and they had to decide to close the magazine but it is a shame that we are losing one of the coolest magazines in Japan.
However, a group of people took action in the hope that they could save the magazine. They launched a web-site to gather signatures to republish the magazine. It would be great if you could visit their site and leave your name to support them.
